LANCASTER BOYS YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION

  • Teams play 6v6 (this includes the keeper)
  • Field Size is Length 50 to 60 yards and width 40 to 50 yards..in all cases the length must exceed the width.
  • Ball Size 4
  • Games are two 25 minute halves recommended (if coaches agree and referee permits the games may be played in four 12 minute quarters however if the game is played in quarters substitutions should be limited to once during the middle of the quarter.)
  • There is no offside with the exception of "Cherry Picking". Offside should only be called if a player is outright standing in an offside position waiting for the ball in wide-open space. Players trying to keep flow with the play or make a run should not be called for offside. Coaches should make sure referee is aware of this rule and the offside call will be the referees judgement.
  • Substitutions are allowed on your own throw in or on any goal kick…BIG NOTE: With the referee’s permission. Players need to wait until the referee calls them on. All substitutions must be made from the midfield line.
  • The referee’s decision in all match related decisions are final.
  • There is no romp rule, but coaches should voluntarily put restrictions on their teams to keep from running up the score. That is not to say don’t score but rather, institute a number of passes, or only score on a crossed ball one touch etc.
  • The coaches job it conveying tactical instructions to his team and offering positive support for what they are doing. Coaches should NEVER offer criticism or negative comments tones or actions towards players, game officials, and referees or fans other coaches. This is not acceptable and will not be tolerated!
  • Maximum number of players on the roster is 10.
  • In all free kick situations opponents must be 8 yards from the ball (in place of the FIFA 10 yards)
  • Players and coaches are expected to shake hands after the match demonstrating good sportsmanship.
  • Teams are to be on one side of the field and fans on the opposite side. This is done to facilitate substitutions for both teams from the same point.

This league is built for the kids and for fun…in any instance an issue is not clear, fair judgment and common sense should be used. Any questions concerning rules or issues can be directed to Dwayne Arehart 615-7464 or darehart@dejazzd.com
